Casting

Instructor: Judy Wenig Horswell

Create pendants, pins, buttons through a survey of direct methods of casting into plaster, sand and cuttlefish bone molds. Each of these methods uses easily available materials and tools with pewter or sterling silver as our casting metals. Pewter, a soft, grayish silver metal, melts at a low temperature while sterling melts at a much higher temperature. Both metals are easily finished with common tools/materials. Each participant will finish 2-3 cast pieces. No prior experience is necessary.
